Stewardship – “A Brake on the Wheels of Progress”

“The idea that a sanitarium should not be established unless it could be started free from debt, has put the brake upon the wheels of progress. In building meetinghouses we have to borrow money, in order that something might be done at once. We have been obligated to do this, in order to fulfill the directions of God. Persons deeply interested in the progress of the work have borrowed money and paid interest on it, to help establish the schools and sanitariums and to build meetinghouses. The institutions thus established and the churches built have been the means of winning many to the truth. Thus the tithes has been increased, and workers have been added to the Lord’s forces.” Counsels on Stewardship pp 279

From the Pastor’s Heart – 4/8/16

1 Now Jericho was straightly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.

2 And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valor.

3 And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.

4 And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.

5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.

Today, the Church of the Oranges faces some unprecedented challenges, possibilities and opportunities. Just like the children of Israel in the verge of acquiring the promised land, we are on the cusp of unbelievable acquisitions and accomplishments as a church family.

But with every potential blessing comes adversity. So here we are family, we declare that something great is about to happen. Let’s get ready for a miracle! Jericho’s walls are before us but those walls are coming down! Stay back today to hear about The Jericho Project immediately after divine worship. Three things were required to brings those ancient walls down. The people prayed, prepared, and shouted.

Today, let’s pray, prepare and shout those walls down in the name of Jesus! Hallelujah!

Stewardship – “Why the Debt Remains”

“ I have a message from the Lord. The churches must awaken from their torpor, and think of these things. “The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, saith the Lord of hosts.” Are we as families appropriating the Lord’s silver and gold to selfish purposes, and doing nothing to lighten the debt on His house? The churches are burdened with debt, not because it is impossible for them to be freed, but because of selfish indulgence on the part of its members. By this ne-
glect God is dishonored, and if He binds about your resources, be not blind as to the cause. When you place the Lord first, and realize that the Lord’s house is dishonored by debt, God will bless you.”…………….Counsels on Steward-
ship pp 262.
